The Compliance organization at Sandvik is actively seeking a Regional Compliance Manager, Northern & Central Europe & Local Compliance Officer (LCO) for Germany, based in one of Sandvik's German offices. The Compliance organization is part of the Sandvik Legal Organization, which includes Risk Management and Sandvik Intellectual Property.
Role Summary
As Regional Compliance Manager, the successful applicant will manage a small team of LCO's representing various countries in Northern & Central Europe. This part of the role involves the supervision and performance management of this team of LCO's.
In addition, you will act as the LCO for Germany. As LCO, you will be responsible for assessing, documenting and reporting on compliance issues in Germany, by implementing Global and local policies and processes, and assisting in the continuous improvement of these processes.
Key performance areas
Ensurement of the compliance programs, established by the global program owners of trade compliance, export controls and anti-trust are implemented locally
Development of communication and delivering of training/education strategies to address identified deficiencies and to increase and maintain general awareness of compliance issues
Identify areas of improvement and assist with the development of operational processes, required internal controls, policies and procedures, as required
Conduct service provider due diligence, recommend classification, provide recommendations on improvements and follow up on required corrective actions
Maintain an accurate database of service provider evaluations in accordance with Group instructions and solutions
Support merger, acquisition and divestiture due diligence activities, including coordination of integration, as required
Conduct/coordinate regular country risk assessments and investigations as required.
Your profile
Need of university degree and minimum of ten years satisfactory progression in businness and process management
Experience in risk assessments, conducting audits, compliance reviews or investigations or with implementation of quality systems and processes
Ability to read and interpret financial statements and excellent knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer databases (e.g., MS Office) are prerequisites
Excellent communication skills in English and German, both written and verbal (skills in other languages relevant to the Region are advantageous)
Ability to exercise sound judgement, a rational and logical approach to problem solving, strong analytical skills and the courage to stand up for what you perceive is right
Leadership skills and can be a role model for standards of performance, as well as having well-developped facilitation, consulting and advisory skills
Furthermore, you need strong integrity and the ability to identify needs and drive change and performance improvements.
Having the faculty to operate independently and without close supervision and being able to work in a virtual team as part of a global network
Ability of building and maintain positive working relationships with management at all levels
You have the ability to travel.
