R&D Test Engineer

Position Summary:

Engage in product testing and validation in a prototype laboratory environment. Primary tests responsibilities would be thermal-hydraulic performance of heat exchangers, as well as structural integrity qualifications in the form of hydrostatic pressure tests relative to the product requirements and thermal and/or pressure fatigue tests of equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Specify and upgrade required instrumentation and laboratory equipment for test units
Claibration of laboratory instrumentation
Work with R&D Engineers and Lab Technician to propose required test apparatus set-up
Assist Laboratory Technician with apparatus set-up and test execution
Determine measurement accurace and uncertainties of temperature, pressure, pressure differential, flow rate, heat balance, and other relevant parameters for testing.
Conduct heat transfer and pressure qualification experiments
Analyze data and assist with mathematical correlation development
Write technical reports relevant to experiments conducted
Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Requirements:

EDUCATION 
BS or MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE 
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Office and Microsoft Project.
Experience with data acquisition software, with preference to LabView
Preference for individual with research and testing experience in fluid flow or heat transfer laboratories.
