YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Manager Continuous Improvement, the key responsibilities of the Business Analyst – Document Processes include, but are not limited to, the following:
   o Enable Thermal to become a world leader in document management in both field and office with best in class processes
   o Lead the development of documentation of work processes and improvements
   o Develop and maintain document control standards and associated procedures for document control
   o Rollout work processes and training to end users
   o Ensure quality of documents stored by Thermal users
   o Have regular and open communication with Thermal teams to ensure document control requirements and processes are being met

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Enhance control processes for facility and project document management within the Thermal team
• Work closely with complementary teams to help ensure the effective implementation of document management processes
• Identify, validate and implement appropriate document metadata processes
• Analyze the current environment and propose improvements
• Create a training program for thermal teams in document management
• Mentor Thermal teams in document management
• Assist with implementing and configuring an EDMS

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Typically 6+ years of corporate document management systems experience used in engineering, construction and/or upstream operational environments or equivalent administrative experience

The Ministry of Advanced Education, Corporate Finance Branch requires a responsible individual with a strong accrual accounting background for the position of Junior Accountant.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for posting to the Branch’s General Ledger, monthly account reconciliations and related journal entries, as well as the preparation of a variety of account analyses including cash flow statements.  You will work with internal and external staff to ensure the accounting integrity of various programs administered by the Branch.

The successful candidate will have strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in order to accurately compile, calculate, identify and summarize data to make adjusting entries and reconcile financial data. You will also have the ability to utilize spreadsheet, accounting, database, and word processing software in order to input, edit, update and retrieve information. As part of the SNC-Lavalin group of companies, SNC-Lavalin T & D designs, develops, and delivers engineering, including system planning and studies, procurement, and construction solutions for high voltage power transmission line and substation projects from our Canadian, United States and International office locations.

SNC-Lavalin T & D has an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineering Manager in our Calgary office. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing Project Engineering Leads and Project Engineers who in turn are responsible for overseeing project engineering teams (multi or single discipline) and coordinating design activities for our major transmission line and substation projects in Alberta and elsewhere.

Accountabilities for this role include:
  • Managing the progress of engineering commitments to ensure successful project completion.
  • Monitoring project resource requirements and usage.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable SNC-Lavalin’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control on assigned projects.
  • Coordinating with Project Management, Procurement and Construction groups for scheduled and successful completion of the project.
  • Coordinating the design activities, and providing technical and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Resolving overall technical and project execution issues.
  • Managing construction support during the construction phase of the project by responding to site queries and arranging the appropriate resources.

Qualifications for these positions include:
A degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 15 years related technical and management experience.
Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA. Registration as a P.Eng. is considered a requirement.
Experience in the power transmission industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Canadian and BC Alberta(AECUC) codes and standards, including OH&S Regulations, CSA and Altalink standards.
A strong leader who can motivate and engage a team with demonstrated strength in leading multidiscipline groups.
An excellent written and verbal communicator with superior relationship management skills.
Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple teams, priorities and time lines.

This position requires a high level of interpersonal communication skills. Occasional travel to remote locations is required. This position reports to the Manager, Project Engineering.

Project:



The joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and Aecon has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out the Darlington Retube and Feeder Replacement (RFR) project. The project involves refurbishment of all four reactors at the Darlington Generating Station and consists of two phases – a Definition Phase and an Execution Phase. The Definition Phase includes the construction of a full-scale reactor mock-up to simulate key elements of the refurbishment work, and the development, procurement and testing of specialized tooling required for the project. The Execution Phase involves refurbishment of the reactor cores using the tools and methods that were developed and tested during the Definition Phase.



Purpose:



The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.



Responsibilities:



To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:



Conduct design verification field walk downs to collect data to verify the design work in support the RFR project 

Interface with plant personnel to ensure that plant operability and nuclear safety concerns have been adequately addressed by the design
Assist in preparation of the design drawings, sketches, calculations and other engineering material associated to work under project
Confirm construction scope, technical and material requirements align with design 
Identify any plant discrepancies and Legacy Issues that could affect the design implementation 
Review existing plant conditions to confirm spare parts requirements 
Interface with construction personnel to ensure the design is optimized for implementation



Qualifications:



Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college 

3-7 years engineering and construction project experience 
EPC and/or EPCM project knowledge and experience 
Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario is an asset. Eligibility is a must. 
Proficiency in office-related software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel 
Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team 
Excellent written and oral communication skills 
Flexibility to work in both field and office

Job Description::
The Scientist, Analytical Services - Innovation, researches, develops, adapts, enhances and validates analytical methods.

The position leads the transfer of analytical methods to other facilities and acts as a key technical resource for McCain’s stakeholders in Analytical Services. The Scientist applies advanced knowledge of food chemistry, sensory and nutrition to assess raw materials, manufacturing processes and storage conditions and their impact on product characteristics, quality and food safety. The position performs standard and advanced lab tests and operates, qualifies, calibrates and maintains core and advanced analytical and shelf life equipment. The Scientist provides technical input into support of research projects including sampling procedures, statistical data analysis and interpretation. The position also acts as a liaison with external laboratories to conduct research and testing using highly complex, advanced or specific technologies. The Scientist helps to ensure that the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard are achieved and maintained and plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and quality of the laboratory data through continuous improvement.

Core Accountabilities/Outcomes:

Research, develop, adapt, enhance and validate analytical methods for the analysis of McCain products; write new analytical methods, validation protocols, reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs); train and supervise analytical staff to carry out SOPs for measurements, experiments and data collection when appropriate. This may include direct contact with external consultants or equipment suppliers to improve knowledge and functionality with the technology.

Design and execute original research supporting Innovation priorities; scientific principles are used to create sound experimentation protocols and execute data measurement and collection; coach analytical technologists and technicians to help collect data; statistically analyze the data and report the results according to agreed upon milestones.

Act as a liaison with external laboratories to conduct research and testing using highly complex, advanced or specific technologies.

Train analytical team members and other site staff on proper analytical techniques and equipment. Provides daily mentorship in laboratory work and equipment expertise.

Provide leadership to the Analytical Services team aligning with McCain culture and values.

Ensure the analytical laboratory meets ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. This includes the operation, qualification, calibration and maintenance of core and advanced analytical and shelf life equipment; follow and adjust SOPs, compile data and reports on analytic quality via control charts and other statistical methods; medium to high level LIMS management is required as well as sharepoint content management and organization.

Provide technical knowledge and expertise to other McCain functional units. This includes support and instruction on sample collection, design of experiments, proper instrument support and understanding of basic and advanced analytical service functions and expertise that can be delivered.

Aid the lab manager in implementing Key Elements of Safety (KES). This includes sourcing and implementing new and cutting edge safety training and equipment to deliver the safest environment possible.

Directly carry out analytical service requests for advanced and core technologies. Analytical measurements are made using ISO/IEC 17025 established standards. This includes sample reception, LIMS interface, bench level measurement, data collection, minor statistics and report out to appropriate customers.

Qualifications:  
Must have
M.Sc (Preferred is chemistry, biochemistry or food science) or B.Sc (Chemistry, biochemisty of Food Science) with minimum 2-3 years experience in a laboratory or research setting is required. A masters level or experienced B.Sc. ensures a foundation in analytical theory and understanding. The higher education provides the required baselines in chemistry, statistics, maths, literature searches, technical writing as well as exposure to analytical instrumentation.
Experience within a laboratory is important as it provides understanding in laboratory quality management and analytical throughput requirements. Requires previous experience using analytical equipment including development of analytical methods. Independent research experience is also required, in which the Scientist, Analytical Services may have encountered hurdles and used problem solving skills to overcome the obstacles. Report, thesis or technical writing (SOPs) is also required experience. While published material is not prerequisite, it would be considered a major asset.
