You will help design, implement, and execute our automation infrastructure. You will help the back-end engineering team quicken delivery, and increase security, scalability, stability, and feature correctness. You will help provide metrics, and health dashboards for assessing performance over time.


Responsibilities:

Automate test acceptance, load, coverage, integration, security, et cetera.
Analyze, and identify root cause problems
Analyze and report test results.
Troubleshoot and Identify issues in the product.
Identify Positive, Negative, Security, Stress, Interoperability tests from Feature Functional Spec and create a test Plan.-
Design, implement, execute and maintain tests using Java (and/or other JVM languages).
File bugs with instructions for recreating (also demonstrate recreation where appropriate).


Required Skills:-

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent- Java (or other JVM language that is compatible for testing).
Software engineering (QA methodologies)- 3+ years of engineering experience- JUnit- Familiarity with WSDL, SOAP, XML, REST.
Comfortable working in Linux environments


Desired Skills:-
Knowledge on Test Automation Framework.

DESCRIPTION
As part of the SNC-Lavalin group of companies, SNC-Lavalin T & D designs, develops, and delivers engineering, including system planning and studies, procurement, and construction solutions for high voltage power transmission line and substation projects from our Canadian, United States and International office locations.

SNC-Lavalin T & D has an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineering Manager in our Calgary office. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing Project Engineering Leads and Project Engineers who in turn are responsible for overseeing project engineering teams (multi or single discipline) and coordinating design activities for our major transmission line and substation projects in Alberta and elsewhere.

Accountabilities for this role include:
  • Managing the progress of engineering commitments to ensure successful project completion.
  • Monitoring project resource requirements and usage.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable SNC-Lavalin’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control on assigned projects.
  • Coordinating with Project Management, Procurement and Construction groups for scheduled and successful completion of the project.
  • Coordinating the design activities, and providing technical and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Resolving overall technical and project execution issues.
  • Managing construction support during the construction phase of the project by responding to site queries and arranging the appropriate resources.
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of all engineering and design packages including return data information.
  • Monitoring project progress and quality of work, and providing coaching and mentoring to project team members.
  • Mentor, guide and support members of the group and others. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients for the purpose of promoting the quality of services offered.



Qualifications for these positions include:
A degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 15 years related technical and management experience.
Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA. Registration as a P.Eng. is considered a requirement.
Experience in the power transmission industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Canadian and BC Alberta(AECUC) codes and standards, including OH&S Regulations, CSA and Altalink standards.
A strong leader who can motivate and engage a team with demonstrated strength in leading multidiscipline groups.
An excellent written and verbal communicator with superior relationship management skills.
Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple teams, priorities and time lines.

This position requires a high level of interpersonal communication skills. Occasional travel to remote locations is required. This position reports to the Manager, Project Engineering.

Under general supervision the Project Engineer III performs assigned general duties of broader scope and responsibility and may be delegated a moderate to high level of independent authority. At this level may be the only project engineer with full responsibility for all general duties on a small project, or assigned particular responsibility for general duties on a medium sized or more complex segment of a larger project. 

The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project. 


Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems;
  • Assuring compliance with established safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits throughout all phases of the project;
  • Assisting in management and coordination of activities among all project functions and engineering disciplines in accordance with the established Project baseline;
  • Supporting efforts of technical disciplines to assure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements;
  • Assisting in creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitor activities, progress, and milestones;
  • Assisting in creation and coordination of project manhour and cost estimates and budgets, and monitors progress and cost performance against these;
  • Preparing project procedures for performance of administrative, project, and design tasks in accordance with contractual obligations;
  • Identifying and evaluating issues and events that may constitute an increase or decrease in project or service scope, cost, or schedule;
  • Preparing documentation for meetings or communications concerning project contractual or technical issues.

What you can look forward to accomplishing
Major function of your position: Project management and engineering responsibilities for assigned bioprocess system projects, including scope definition, vendor management, development of P&ID’s and Major component lists and budget and delivery schedule maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Engineering specification review and interpretation for customized bioprocess equipment.
- Manage inter-company projects for systems fabricated at German manufacturing location.
- Develop P&ID, Major Component List and Vessel Specifications.
- Perform design calculations related to equipment sizing.
- Coordinate project activities between manufacturing and automation partner companies.
- Primary customer interface for all project requirements and activities.
- Manage the on-time and on-budget completion of assigned projects and customer
Preparation of Change Orders for definition of project scope changes.
- Manage project billing plans and profitability to maximize cash flow and control project costs
- Generate FAT test protocols and acceptance criteria based on standardized templates.
- Support FAT/SAT testing for custom equipment
- Field service support
- Preparation and compilation of documentation to support development of turnover package.
- Sales support for proposal development including contract review.
- Some international travel required.

Skills and experience that you need to bring to our company
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college in an engineering discipline. Chemical, Bioprocess or Mechanical preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years project management/engineering experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with upstream and downstream bioprocessing equipment and processes, i.e. cell culture, fermentation and filtration systems.
- Experience specifying instrumentation and process control components in a biopharmaceutical environment, i.e. sensors, valves, pumps, etc.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards (cGMP, ASME-BPE, etc.)
Other Skills
- Ability to work proficiently with MS Office products, Microsoft Project, Visio etc.
- Ability to work with AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor and AutoDesk Vault Manufacturing.
- Familiarity with SAP or other MRP systems.
- Must be detail oriented with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary, International team environment.
