Responsibilities:

The Data Center Outsourcing Manager in this role will ensure data center services from our most critical strategic vendor are delivered with highest quality, consistency, and in a timely manner. The manager in this position is an individual contributor who will develop and execute governance, performance management, and quality control processes to ensure vendor deliverables meet the service level agreements. Additional responsibilities:
Oversee consistent delivery of vendor services

Ensure the vendor is properly executing day-to-day monitoring, security reviews, back-ups, incident management, problem management, and change management

Establish and develop plans to meet long-term strategic goals and objectives for the vendor 

Measure and manage vendor performance according to contractual obligations
Advocate on behalf of internal engineers with the vendor's service delivery teams

Understand and clearly communicate goals, objectives, and requirements of IT and internal business within the organization and with the vendor

Ensure effective business relationships internally and externally
Act as counterpart to the vendor's service delivery manager and the vendor's full-service delivery team

Design and implement business processes that improve day-to-day delivery
Ensure proactive communication with the vendor to receive recommendations for appropriate new technologies, and aligning service delivery with business objectives

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
6+ years' experience in IT (or similar environment) in roles of increasing responsibility and demonstrated leadership
4+ years' experience with service delivery management, vendor management, and/or customer service management or experience managing a large supplier base
Experience with process design and implementation
ITIL Foundations certification or familiarity
Demonstrated career experience building and managing highly effective relationships
Experience driving change in an organization through communication, leadership, and influencing without managerial authority
Process design, improvement, and management
Outstanding verbal and written communication
Analytical with experience providing reports to team members and stakeholders
Experience measuring and managing SLAs
MS Office experience (Excel)

  • Technical depth is important i.e. the IT Manager needs to be able to work with and even at times lead the Senior System Administrator in the design and delivery of infrastructure changes and hosted solutions.
  • Ideally the IT Manager will come from SME company background. With the ability to manage and at times be able to go into the technical depth as this role will be broad and varied. We are not looking for someone that will always expect their technical specialist to lead the technical work.

The IT Manager will be accountable for leading on the management and delivery of IT services with the support of an IT team. The key focus of the role is to:


  • Develop, and Implement the IT strategy, to deliver a high quality of service to clients and internal users, this includes Business continuity planning BCP, Disaster recovery, security management (processes in line with ISO27001) and seamless delivery of services (both internal and to clients),
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships,
  • Effectively manage, mentor and develop the IT team,
  • Proactively manage sub-contractor relationships,
  • Control the IT budget,
  • Promote and communicate the strategic direction of IT to the business,
  • Prepare, monitor, track and co-ordinate delivery of all IT projects, reporting on progress ,
  • Liaise with Department Heads to understand business requirements, feed into IT related tender opportunities and IT project plan,
  • Lead on IT client delivery solutions, (scoping, manage and completion within time frames and budgets)
  • Lead the IT team to develop client services with the view to building capacity to take on more projects
  • Hold regular IT Project Board meetings, sharing proposed initiatives, challenges, risks and other strategic considerations with the Management Team

IT Service Specialist

Reporting to the Service Desk Team Leader, the IT Service Specialist will be the first point of contact for all IT issues. They will log and manage the lifecycle of Incidents and Service Requests whilst ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive updates and escalation where a first time fix is not possible. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Answer incoming calls from internal customers and external suppliers 
  • Record, update and proactively manage Incidents and Service Requests received via phone, voice mail, email and desk side visit
  • Provide initial assessment of Incidents and Service requests setting appropriate categorisation and prioritisation
  • Provide initial support of incidents, ensuring appropriate analysis takes place and all required information is captured and accurately recoded
  • Proactively monitor, progress and resolve incidents in line with departmental SLAs
  • Escalate in a timely manner incidents where a first time fix is not possible
  • Create, update and Manage Service Requests in line with internal SLAs
  • Update and manage IT Deployed Assets
  • Ensure internal policies are adhered to whilst dealing with incidents and SLAs
  • Work with external suppliers to organise hardware deployments and hardware replacements
  • Create and maintain user accounts
  • Install packaged software
  • Provide basic support for desktop/laptop computer systems, printers, phones, mobile devices, and other hardware
  • Issue informative communication messages to the business relating to RFCs and other planned and unplanned maintenance in line with the weekly scheduled CAB meetings
  • Create, maintain and organise SSG documentation to help build the support knowledge base
  • Drive and manage support solutions back into the user community
  • Provide key operational system verification, support and escalation.


Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills balanced with effective communication and excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent knowledge of IT Service Management processes and procedures, specifically Incident, Problem, Change and Service Level Management
  • ITIL Foundation Level certification
  • Educated to degree level (preferably IT-related) or equivalent experience


Work Requirements: 
Monday to Friday 40 Hours per week; A single member of the team will also provide cover on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm on a rotational basis.

Assist in programming tasks for Center on Aging studies. Assist with data acquisition and control activities, including the development of electronic forms, data management applications, and data reporting applications. Configure desktop and server software and applications as required.


High School Diploma or equivalent with one year experience in programming and application development is required. Some college in computer science or a related discipline is preferred. Experience with web programming (html, php, SQL, javascript etc.) is required. Experience with configuring and maintaining IIS is also required.

ROLE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Networking & Infrastructure
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation and support for IT infrastructure
  • Define, implement and continually enhance network security throughout the H5 AP IT network
  • Evaluate and manage ISP contracts/ negotiations/ SLAs

Server Management & Support
