Desired skills
Technical school fraduate as a computer operator with SUN Solaris and HP UNIX experience including utilizing FPT and system backup utilities. One(1) year experience in a technical environment to include system startups/shutdowns, performing back-up operations and software installations. Knowledge of and experience with LM Moorestown Help Desk operations considered a plus.
Specific Job Description
Specific candidate will serve as a member of the Naval ystems Computer Center/Computer Programs Test Site (NSCC/CPTS) Program Generation Center (PGC) team at the LM/MS2 Moorestown, NJ facility working in a rotating shift 24x7 environment. Tasks and daily responsibilites will center on the transfer of system and user files (manually and electronically) using various types of physical media and programs (e.g. File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Tape Archive (TAR) across the classified and unclassified VAX and UNIX based networks. Candidate will perform customer and system file archival backups and report problems to system engineers and PGC management for resolution. He/She will also perform initialization of remote and local classified communications networks; monitor the NSCC classified network to ensure connectivity and provide paging notification to management and system engineers; electronically transfer program build and load files utilizing the Aegis Wide Area Network to remote sites in accordance with Configuration Management processes; process user (customer) requests in a timely manner; and provide Help Desk and Customer Service support for internal and external customers during all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Additionally, successful candidate will monitor the Remedy Action Request System (AR) database for electronically submitted user service requests and process as required; develop a thorough understanding of all processes and procedures associated with the PGC Operations center as well as create, edit and maintain new procedures as required; support the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program requirement's via the Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) server by transmitting and receiving files via FTP. Successful candidate must be a detail oriented individual with good interpersonal and communication skills and possess the ability to work in a team environment. Must be willing to work all shifts (including overtime) on a rotating basis to support a 24x7 operation (including weekends and holidays). Standard Job Description
Monitors and operates electronic digital computers to process business, scientific, engineering, or other data according to operating instructions. Normally required to set control switches; ensure that correct peripheral equipment is utilized and move switches to clear system and operate the equipment; selects and loads input and output units with materials such as tapes and printout forms. Observes equipment and control panels for operator messages or error indicators. Sets up and runs diagnostic test and reacts appropriately to the messages and reports errors or machine malfunctions as required. May perform clerical work incidental to machine operations such as labeling tape containers, maintaining production records, replenishing specified stock items, and distributing output materials. Normally required to operate peripheral equipment to perform such operations as tape-to-printer. Takes corrective action according to supervisor's instructions. May include working with multiple systems.

High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 1 Year of experience.
